🏆 how long i've been roleplaying for?

i would roughly say 3-5 years with large gaps in-between because of my personal life. i was probably 16-17 when i first joined the RPC with my friends ♡

some of yall are about to be real mad at me...but it must be said!!

following but never interacting. i will never understand why i used to get followed only to be ignored for almost a month straight?? it's frustrating AF to deal with because i make an effort to communicate through liking their headcanons, sending a message, reblogging prompts for them to respond IC if they're not comfortable talking OOC and posting starters but all i get in return is radio silence. there's no point in following someone if they're never go to showcase their interest towards me.

people who follow me without reading my rules. it's the bare minimum. it's my only requirement. i can ALWAYS tell when somebody doesn't read them. the lack of respect is icky.

a villain is a villain. do not follow me if you cannot handle her rude comments or disturbing actions. please don't expect her to be nice just because your muse is 'special'. louise will not care...unless you're a monster, but that doesn't mean monsters are safe from her wrath if they end up provoking her.

when i see a RP blog with no tags. it's so difficult to navigate and find specific things like prompts/memes. i will not bother checking out a tagless account.

people who refuse to interact with OC's. why?? do people not know canon characters were someone else's OC?? the math ain't mathing!!

people who use AI to generate a reply or create meaningless artwork. i'm strictly anti-AI. i believe suffering for your art or writing is what makes it so... relatable to me. there has to be REAL tears of passion otherwise i'm not moved 😭😭

needing internet validation 24/7. it's SUPER exhausting telling someone they're good enough to write only for them to discard it. i know we all have our bad days but it gets to the point where it becomes overwhelming and sets off my anxiety.

DNI MINORS!! i am a GROWN adult. i wish more minors would actually hang out with their age group instead of trying to interact with me. i only interact with muns over 21+ for a reason!!

posting too much negativity without tagging it or putting it under 'read more'. for the sake of my mental health, i will soft block. the same goes with drama because i do not want to be dragged into someone else's problems or start the day off with negativity.

people who only see female muses as sex objects and nothing more. i put my entire SOUUUL into louise's characterisation. she was always sexualised by DC in the past but i see her as a complex character in desperate need of flourishing. plus, she's a killer not a seducer. louise did not come here to flirt. she came here to start chaos.

personals who spam my account with likes and reblogs. this one gets on my nerves A LOT!! it's why i had to turn off the reblog feature and hard block them on sight.

SHIPPING: I SHIP CHEMISTRY, and i do not force ships because i’m not a monster. i definitely enjoy a good romance, but platonic and queerplatonic dynamics, rivalries, etc. are just as interesting to explore!

One of the most offputting things to me when meeting a new writing partner and talking to them, especially for the first time and first few interactions, is when they show absolutely zero interest in your muse and what you have to say, unless it's about their muse.

My latest example of this. I just started following someone whose muse I found really interesting and wanted to rp with them. I reached out and told them this, they followed back and told me they didn't know anything about my fandom but they'd love to rp with me too. We started chatting, whereupon they began unloading heaps of info about their muse, which is fine, I love chatting about muses and learning about other people's muses and discussing dynamics. But the second I brought up my muse and tried to explain her lore so they could understand how my muse's stuff worked, the conversation went utterly silent. No response. And there has been no response since.

I have sent two asks to this person since then, to try to strike up interactions with their muse. Both dead end responses where it's obvious they want mine to chase after theirs, where if they had let me talk in our chat, they'd know my muse respects boundaries and wouldn't do that, hence why we'd need to plot together. Also pretty telling is all the nonstop faceclaims they post of their muse and just, things they post about how wonderful they are and how perfect they are and how badass, etc, and the ask memes they reblog all basically asking for them to be worshipped.

Meanwhile, they haven't bothered with interacting with a single thing I've posted, even though they've been clearly active on the dash.

I usually do a little bit of digging on blogs before I follow them for precisely these reasons, but I guess I didn't dig far enough. Their page had decent threads present when I checked, and now all this. So, sheesh.

don't mind me being a cranky bitch today due to a variety of irl reasons but one thing kinda bugs the crap out of me. not really aimed at any one specific, but something I've noticed in general a lot lately

I seriously don't get this one pattern about it:

someone with a huge follower/mutual count follows me. I get excited thinking, woah! quality person is actually interested in tiny no name blog me, how cool! I can't wait to get something started!

weeks pass, person doesn't interact whatsoever. no like, no pm, no ask, nothing. I'm thinking okay, maybe they don't feel like it or are too shy, or maybe they expect me to interact first. so after a couple of weeks, I start sending some memes, I'm interacting with posts and liking them to show the moot that I appreciate seeing them on my dash and like reading their stuff and because I know how nice it is to have some form of interaction. I'm not just interacting with posts because I expect something in return. I just genuinely like interacting and showing my mutuals 'I see you and I've read what you're talking about and I love it!' but then we get back to this strange pattern I cannot figure tf out: person entirely ignores my interactions. reblogs memes, posts starter calls, I try to interact this way, since this is usually a signal in the rp world that says 'I'm open for new threads, send something my way :)' absolutely zero interaction or response to that too. And like???? It's not about the fact that there is no interaction in general. Like, I get it. People are busy. People don't owe you shit in return for your own engagements. I have a whole bunch of moots whom I followed first who haven't interacted in months because they're very busy, or take their time to reply and I know that and that's totally fine. But what I don't get is: why the fuck do these people even bother to follow first if they have absolutely zero intention to interact in any way, or are too busy or whatever else? Why follow even more people you know you couldn't be arsed to interact with currently? Why purposefully and entirely ignore every type of interaction without any little heads up or anything else? Like seriously, just fuck right off with that that, I'm so tired of bullshit like this. It's so discouraging and disrespectful imho. I'd rather have people soft or hardblock me if they decide they're no longer or not interested in interacting or if the follow was a mistake or something. Hey, absolutely no hard feelings. People come and go! I softblock every now and then too when I don't vibe. But the following and then ghosting and ignoring is just such bullshit.

reblog karma :: I prefer if people reblog from the source regardless of if they send me a meme or not (unless maybe ooc memes because it’s fun to send some back if they sent me some and reblogged from me and I notice that), but I’m not that bothered about it if people reblog from me and don’t send stuff, unless it’s non-mutuals/happens all the time excessively. I definitely prefer people to not send something out of obligation. I’ve seen folks talk about how they "know" people reblogged because they saw the meme "on their blog" even if they reblogged from the source and I think that’s... way too far, like, so what if they saw it from you and sent nothing if they reblogged from source/a meme blog? I understand wanting mutuals to interact with you and I agree that everyone would do well with making a little bit more effort to engage with their mutuals (liking gifsets and such is such a low effort way of signaling you value someone on your dash for example if you don’t have it in you to interact ic or talk), I don’t understand why anyone would want to be sent memes the other mun had no true interest in. I think everyone is entitled to their own rules with this, and I reblog from source on default, if available, unless I know the other mun prefers I reblog from them instead.

shipping :: Taking this to refer to romantic/sexual shipping. I love to ship! I hate that even I feel the need to say that "I am not here for ships only", as if simply saying I love shipping meant that that’s all I want from roleplay... I think the rpc as a whole should keep trying to unlearn any shame related to shipping, and I think that shame comes from misogyny. Romance in fiction is often both marketed towards women, and we automatically view romcoms, harlequin novels, etc. as "lesser" than, not real art/literature, shallow (which... there’s nothing wrong with something just being lighthearted entertainment, it doesn’t decrease the value of the work)... It’s not a coincidence the things commonly associated with "types of fiction women engage with" are seen as less valuable. It’s probably the source of the subtle feeling of "writing platonic dynamics is superior" in the rpc. It’s more internalised (you don’t have to be a woman to have internalised misogyny - I am not a woman and I’ve noticed these types of shame in myself) than anyone actually saying that about what other people write. My saying "I want to ship but I’m not here for only that" comes from shame related to internalised misogyny, just the feeling of needing to defend shipping by signaling that it’s not all you write is likely related to internalised misogyny. Being more nervous about asking if the other mun is interested in shipping than if they’re interested in a friendship interaction is likely related to internalised misogyny... Again: because romance as a genre is associated with being "for women", and systemic misogyny. Why else would it feel more shameful to suggest writing with another mun? Why should it?

Bet you all didn’t expect a social commentary on misogyny’s effect on fiction-

I love shipping, and I wish I were more bold in daring to suggest shipping. I think force shipping and not taking a no for an answer is a much, much smaller scale issue in the rpc than the shame related to wanting to ship. Like, on an individual level the former is a worse thing, but I don’t think it’s as prevalent as the internalised shame about ships.

your first muse :: Off tumblr? That goes so far back no one needs to see that; I don’t remember who exactly was my first private muse but I was about 14 years old and in many RPF fandoms so...

On tumblr, it was actually Iris, whom I write on this blog now; my first rp blog here was for her. Her character begun with an idea to make a Doctor Who OC who was manipulated into trying to assassinate the Doctor (which still remains a potential verse; wink wonk folks). This was in 2013. I’d link to her muse page but I desperately want to rewrite/move it before advertising her lollll.

I'm Ele, 35+, will write with 20+ yo rpers. Italian (time-zones are hell), with a bunch of chronic illnesses and ptsd, so some days I'll be super active and insta-reply and other days everything is shelved except for one reply or two that I can tackle, and my angst is pretty vanilla. Mutuals only, as I said. I'll send passwords AFTER being followed. I don't want silent followers, I'll block you if after we become mutuals you don't respond nor start anything.

If you don't see any threads I probably don't owe anything and I don't rush rp partners, but I'm still active! Link to check out threads here. To me rp is the equivalent of playing with dolls, I respect the real people behind it, but if your doll is a Bad Guy I won't think you are a Bad Guy (I might just not want to write that sort of story, that's all). We write when we can, what we want, as much as we want.

Some communication is a must to keep threads going (and I match enthusiasm). If you send me a thousand memes, chances are I'll reply to like... 700 of them. Don't feel forced to keep them, but know that you can, we'll just naturally stop writing the ones who don't have anything special left to add to the story.

Having multiple threads is my fave thing! The more the merrier! She's an oc and I'm picky, so I don't anticipate having a LOT of mutuals, you won't be bothering me if you want to interact more!

Bonnie is straight. I only ship with people who are 21+. I LOVE shipping but I'll NEVER forceship, so dynamics are 'he's my friend unless allowed otherwise', even if she can flirt as a joke (some talk between our muses may be needed to look past her experience of being unlikable). She doesn't expect men to be interested anyway, so she won't even notice if she is. Now, with canon compliant ones that I know I can guess and be very quickly okay with it, but with canon I don't know, OCs and AUs, I need a bit of writing.

I'll fade to black unless I tell you otherwise (tagged as nsft), because my repulsion goes up and down. And listen, I'm a big shipper so I get if it's not your cup of tea, but if you are interested in writing female friendships too, then give her a shot!

She's not submissive in ANY aspect of her relationships, including on/offscreen smut or hostile interactions (though she might be scared of your muse and act accordingly). People in the past went way too far or showed some legit misogyny through it. In fact: if your muse is like 'ugh go away' straight out of the gate, she'll go away*. End of thread. Plot with me why she shouldn't but the answer can't be: "because she's friendly so she'll keep trying and embarrassing herself". *If you write one of those canon villains who hang out with the good guys and/or you are okay with writing one of those casually fight-y relationships (see Lae'zel and Shadow.heart fighting in bg3, or Spike and the Scooby gang) let's plot and go for it!

I never do exclusives, I have enough interest, time, and energy to give to dozens of the same muse (given that all portrayals are different) in my semi-healthy days.

Please tag images of horror/gore, daddy kink references, and all sexual stuff (written or images even if fanarts) and that means wishlist and headcanon AND ooc posts too.

I will tag written topics outside of ns.ft IF they are detailed (general violence, references to past abuse etc), and references to no.ncon in canon backstories. I can't promise anything different because I know I'd forget if they are just mentions. I cannot tag ableism because it's a permanent part of her life.

I WON'T WRITE: abusive relationships, r.ape outside of backstories, or Bonnie being your muse's 'therapist' and being hit with never-ending negativity. I HATE bad endings (death, permanent hate).

I have a hard time with canon muses I don't know, unless you wrote a bio so I know what they are about. If your bio is a link to their wiki and nothing more, I might say no on account of not being sure of who they are and if I'm comfortable/interested. I need a bio for ocs too.

I won't write WITH (due to me being uncomfortable, traumatized or not interested):

deities/myths/religious figures especially if worshipped in real life (with rare exceptions because this triggers me, but BG3 and aliens that are called gods are fine. I'm talking about Zeus or Christian angels etc)

vampires and similar creatures outside of B.uffyverse or BG3

anything that has the power to attract my muses against their will. I hate it.

children/teenagers with RARE canon exceptions (the 'bratty' teen trope stresses me, mother/literal-child threads bore me).

No H.arry Potter, no ga.me of thrones, no as.oiaf.

fully "evil" characters who require her to also be evil to interact or to be imprisoned (not because I judge you tho!): why would someone like her hang out with a serial killer? many canon exceptions can be made due to how you write your character, especially because not lal villains are child murderers or have body parts in the car trunks (maybe you write a canon divergent villain, maybe they are an 'acceptable' level of evil for that fandom, maybe your villain is helping the good guys).

Hello! My name is Sapph! Welcome to my RP blog!

This blog is for a few (secondary) indie OCs for the band Phantom Overdose. This blog will be very low activity and highly selective, it's mostly just a sideblog to go with Cassia's blog so that if anyone wants to write with any of the boys in her band, they can! I hate to word it this way- but if you don't also write at least a little with Cassia, I probably won't write with you here. She's my primary muse and I'm very open about the fact that I will be prioritizing her over this blog. Again, this blog is more just a side blog for a little extra world building and such.

I'm currently working on putting a page together for the band that will give slightly more in depth information about them! For now, though: THIS IS A QUICK RUN DOWN OF THE CHARACTERS! I'm willing to write any of the band members, current or former, as well as their manager and road manager, though the current band members are the ones I'm focused on <3

Here are a few things to know (Feel free to read just the bolded stuff if you’re in a hurry, the unbolded just elaborates):

Mun is 25+ and will only rp with those who are 18+! If you aren’t 18+ please don’t interact. I’m just not comfortable with it.

I don’t write much smut, so I apologize if things head that way and I end up dropping the thread without warning (I don’t usually drop threads intentionally, it’s probably just stuck in my drafts until I’m in the headspace to write it, but that day might never come, so I apologize).

I have a separate side blog for nsfw content! I'll reblog some smutty stuff over there, though in general I prefer to write it on discord. It's not a smut shaming thing and I'll never judge anyone for writing it on their main blog! I just don't feel confident in my smut writing abilities so I like to keep it a bit separate sometimes. I will also never shame you for kinks or anything! To each their own <3

I’m super slow with replies most of the time. Totally feel free to give me a nudge if it’s been a while since I’ve replied. (On this blog, I'd say if it's been more than 2 months nudge me.) I lose track of stuff so easily and then feel like I’m not allowed to reply to it when I remember it because it’s been a while ^^;

This blog is going to be highly selective and very low activity. It's really just meant to be more of an extension of Cass's universe than something fully stand alone.

I won't be doing a lot of shippy stuff on this blog. That doesn't mean I won't do it at all, but I'll be highly selective about shipping, too. I want to focus more on the characters as themselves than as parts of ships. That's not to say I won't ship them from time to time, it's just not a priority for this blog. I just don't want anyone coming over here with the intention of shipping with one of the boys because they like the fc and then it not happening and them getting disappointed. So please come into this with the thought of befriending the boys and such, not so much with shipping in mind.

REBLOG KARMA: I try to be respectful and reblog things from the source or from a meme blog or whatever because I understand why people don’t want to be feel like they’re being used as a meme source. If I ever reblog something from you that isn’t a reply, I’m sorry. I try not to let it happen, but sometimes it does.

That said: REBLOG WHATEVER YOU WANT FROM ME. Seriously, it doesn’t bother me at all. You don’t even have to send me a meme to reblog it. Just... go ahead. Reblog it. It’s totally fine by me <3 (Though I would definitely prefer if you sent me a meme when you reblog.)

OOC conversation can be really hard for me. I try and usually I’m fine when it comes to plotting, but I drop the ball a lot or come off as cold a lot because I just don’t have the energy to talk ooc a lot of the time. Please don’t take it personally, it’s just that my social battery is usually at 40% or less in general oTL I also have AvPD which makes social interactions extra difficult for me. On bad days, you might see me on dash but not get an ooc answer from me. Again- it's nothing against you! I'm just bad at social interaction.

plotting etiquette : a players guide

[ coming soon / an admins guide ]

plotting is an essential part to writing together; whether you’re in a group, an indie blog or even a 1x1, you need to be able to communicate with your peers in order to build a story. and that’s why we’re all here, right? to create worlds, no matter what the context, and most importantly, to do this with others. roleplaying is a team effort - no matter what universe you’re writing in. below the cut are some helpful tips, tricks and advice to remember when attempting to plot with others. if you’ve found this guide useful, please like and/or reblog to spread the word - and hopefully help out others along the way. ***a part two will be out next week for admins on how to promote and help your group with plotting.

i. ‘i’m scared of bothering people!’

this is a statement i’ve seen the most often around the rpc - whether it’s from a various text post people reblog, or as an admin who’s been on the receiving end of messages like this.

it’s important to remember that most of us get a little nervous about reaching out. while writing original pieces or fanfiction can give you some distance between the creating portion and the feedback process, there’s no real space for roleplaying. it’s an instantaneous thing - we put our words out there on the screen, and someone else has to reply to that in some capacity.

whether you’re an extrovert, an introvert or something in between, this can often be the beginning of the end for a lot of roleplayers. maybe you’ve joined an established group, and it seems like everyone has set dynamics and you don’t want to shake things up. or maybe you’re an indie blog, but you’re too scared to talk to someone you’ve idolized and want to write with.

the thing is, you can’t expect people to know what you want if you can’t verbalize it yourself. let them know you’re a little nervous ! chances are, they are too. we’re all on this platform trying to do the same thing, and everyone gets nervous about exposing themselves to strangers now and again. ultimately, we put a little piece of ourselves in every character we create, and that can be terrifying to show to people and expect them to accept. but a little effort goes a long way - making the first move can often help build a bridge to someone you might not have otherwise gotten the chance to write with. you’re going to have to take a risk sometimes. while not everyone is going to be receptive, most people will be. and chances are, if you start with something as simple as “hi, i’d love the chance to write / plot with you,�� you’ll be met with an extraordinarily excited new partner. understand that if they don’t, it’s not a bad thing ! some writing styles don’t mesh together, some people have a harder time talking freely than others, and so many of us regularly forget to reply to a message. know that if you’ve put yourself out there, that’s a huge step in the right direction, no matter what comes of it, and next time it’ll be even easier.

ii. come prepared.

this is ultimately where a lot of players fall short. it’s one thing to say ‘let’s plot’, and another thing to do it altogether. you need to have some sort of jumping off point.

some ideas include:

a prompt / plot idea.

this is especially important if it’s a new person you’re trying to interact with. it’s difficult to come up with things on the spot, and if you’re reaching out, you need to have something to reach out with.

in a group you’ll want to take the time to read their biography / about / wanted connections if they have them listed. it’s a quick way to ensure you have a basis of what they want, and how you and your characters can then fill those needs.

as an indie / 1x1 see if they have any ‘wanted plots’ or ‘prompts’ tags. check out their ask memes tags. ensure you’ve read their guidelines on both of these, and follow them. while most people have similar rules, you can’t know that for sure unless you’ve read through them.

questions about their character(s).

everyone adores talking about their own characters - give them an opportunity to let them tell you about theirs! even if they’re playing a canon character, they’ll have their own take on them, with headcanons and quirks and hobbies that might not show up in the specific canon the character comes from.

use ask memes if you need help coming up with questions - ask memes are extraordinarily helpful when it comes to fleshing out muses for developmental purposes as it is, and while they’re usually made for general tumblr interaction, they can be a great jumping off point for talking specifics.

don’t be afraid to point out things in their bio / about / etc. this shows that you’ve gone through and read their pages, which shows that you care about them as a person and a character, and not merely another faceclaim.

talk about your character(s).

it’s always good, especially in a group, to have a small statement of facts about your character. in business, this is called an ‘elevator pitch’ - a few concise sentences that can get someone else interested.

for example, merrick wood is a former cheerleader who would do absolutely anything for her sister, holly, has no real ambitions and loves the weird and supernatural. you can find her swimming, or listening to mix cd’s she makes for her own amusement, or even on the hunt for big foot. this now gives the other player a few things to pick through - what kind of music is she listening to? why is her sister so important to her? is cheerleading still important enough for her to mention it to someone?

iii. plotting is a two way street.

the above two points work on the basis that you’ve made the first move - but say you’re the one who’s gotten the message of someone eager to plot with you ! takes a little stress off of your plate, but adds to their own. no matter what, remember that there is a real person on the other side of the screen. be kind, and treat them how you’d want to be treated - even if you’re not interested in writing with them, let them know ! a simple thanks for the message! i’m honored you’re interested in my characters, but at the moment i don’t think we’d be a good fit is enough of a response that most people should leave it at that. if you get a message saying they’re not interested, simply say ‘thank you for replying!’ and move on. as stated above, not everyone will always click - respect people’s boundaries, and understand that you’ll find a new partner in due time.��

responding to plotting messages is as important as creating them; if someone says they want to plot and gives you ideas, play off of them. don’t simply say ‘okay!’ or ‘cool!’ - a habit a lot of people have had over the years.

example. if jenny says “i think it would be great if robert could surprise them with flowers,” reply wth “oh how cute!!!” and end there - expand on it, adding your own input - “that’s so cute! denise adores lilacs, and would be flustered to get them from someone she admires so much!” the latter sentence gives your partner something to respond to, something to work with, and may just end up being in the thread you write together!

iv. don’t make your admins do all the work.

this section is primarily for group roleplayers.

your admin(s) already do so much. behind the scenes, there’s constantly updating the main pages, queueing ads, coming up with tasks and events and plot drops to keep players entertained and happy. at the same time, they’re trying to play in the group with you - create their own stories, write their own characters. they should not have to spoon feed you plots. these are things you need to develop on your own and with fellow players.

example. in a town rp, and you have a social butterfly character ? throw a birthday party for a character, giving the other characters something to participate in without an official Admin Sponsored Event. you should of course ensure the admin is okay with you having ‘events’ like the above for various players, and you need to ensure you’re inclusive in them - don’t ‘throw a party’ and not invite half the group because you don’t want to plot with them. take the time to message players of characters who might not normally show up and figure out something else with them, or a reason why they would be there or even why they wouldn’t!

v. stop bubbling.

at the end of the day, plotting together is the best way to stop bubbling from happening in your group. no one wants to be the player left out of everything - make sure to try and reach out to the others, especially if you think other players may be ignoring them. writing together - in a group, on an indie, anywhere really - is supposed to be fun and challenging and a different experience every time. before you go to your admins about being left out / ignored, ask yourself if you’ve done the above. have you messaged other players ? asked them about their characters, and given ideas of potential prompts for the two of you to write ? if you have, and you’re still getting ignored, then absolutely talk to your admin team! but try and be proactive instead of reactive and you’d be amazed at how far you can go.

hopefully this guide will help you - remember, your roleplay experience is ultimately cultivated by yourself. you choose which groups to apply to, which characters to bring, and your attitudes and behaviors can affect your gameplay. being in a group, specifically, is about being a part of a team. become a team player, and you and your characters can find the roleplay family of your dreams ♡

Maybe try a soft reset and clear out drafts + inbox? Find a few more interesting/different blogs to interact with? A little change of scenery and new rp partners might spark something. I hope Shisui sticks around for a while yet.

My drafts are mostly unanswered rp threads waiting to be continued and rp memes waiting to be reblogged, with a couple of exceptions, and my asks as well are mostly rp prompts to answer to, which I would love to do but every time I try and sit down to write something I just come up with absolutely nothing

I do like the idea of finding new people to interact with, but I'm always so afraid of bugging people

To be honest, I think @depressedhatakekakashi is the only one I've actively approached with rp asks at the start, while all the others have written to me first and have kept sending asks again and again to start threads with me until I was confident enough to understand that no, I wasn't bothering them. And still to this day sometimes I fear I might be

I... Guess that's why I don't have many rp partners. I'm pretty sure I can count them on one hand. I wouldn't even know where to start to approach new people, I'm not very good at that

That being said, the fact that I've lost my muse right now doesn't mean he won't come back. It's happened before. He always comes back. I'll probably try and draw something to nudge at the artistic part of my brain, or maybe I'll try and start a new AU again and again until something sticks. It usually works. I might try and pick up some abandoned old WIP, I certainly do have enough of them to go for months

However, I have no idea how long my block will lasts. Sometimes it's a couple of weeks, sometimes a couple of months. Sometimes even just a couple of days. I'm used to it. I think the reason for it this time is just my job and my family stressing the Hell out of me (and working with my family doesn't help at all, I don't have enough time to replenish my energy between one family interaction and the other), but I'm starting a new job around next month so maybe I'll finally be able to afford a place of my own, move the Hell out of here and get my muse back

♦ What was a mildly annoying thing that has happened to you rp wise?

Probably when I had a killer OC that had VERY SPECIFIC rules about who he killed and yet people with super UWU characters would come to be like, "What if he hurt my character and then set them free, tee hee?"

Like no. This character has specific rules. Why would he even let them go after that while trying to hide his double life?? It was clearly all for people trying to get #angst for their character and I hated it.

♥ What's the WORST thing that has happened to you rp wise?

Had an abusive ex come out of roleplays, from devia/ntart nonetheless, I wont go into details about it but they were a fucking piece of work who basically wanted me to larp IRL as my OC for them because they were in love with my OC and not me.

☠ What does someone have to do for an instant unfollow from you?

Pretty much making it obvious they didn't read my rules. Like if they RP certain fucked up stuff or continuously reblog memes from me without sending anything in. The simple stuff that's like; why did you even follow me if you couldn't be bothered to look at my rules.

☀ What's your rp pet peeve?

Nonstop angst. Like, I can appreciate angst in an RP! I can appreciate a character being their own self destructive entity! But I've had RP partners who just nonstop wanted bad thing after bad thing to happen to their character and for my character to take care of them CONSTANTLY.

I hate feeling like someone wont allow their character to be happy for 2 seconds of their life. Again, if their unhappiness is of their own making and it's in character, that's one thing. But if it's more like, 'What if my character had all these bad things happen to them in one day 🥺' I'm gonna dip. I'm too old and tired for that.

✖ How has Tumblr RP changed since you started?

Old woman voice shaking her cane: in my day we didn't have aesthetics or icons. we just wrote 9 page long replies in the snow and we liked it!

No but seriously, I have been on tumblr rpc since before icons were a thing and let me tell you IT WAS A DIFFERENT TIME. I honestly think, unfortunately, people have gotten a lot more self centered in the RPC since then.

It use to be a lot easier to be sent stuff and get interactions. There seemed to be a shift in the last 5 years where a lot of communities would rather let someone's blog die from lack of interactions and then go, 'Oh man, why did they leave the fandom :(' as if they ever even tried with a person and didn't just leave them with 0 interactions. You cannot roleplay on a roleplay blog unless there are people to roleplay with, after all.

I think there are more positive changes, too. No matter how out of control drama can get, I think it has gotten easier at the same time to come out and say, 'this person actually hurt me and is actually dangerous' more so than it use to be. People are more willing to take evidence and listen than in the old days. In the old days the attitude seemed to be, stay silent so you don't ruin the community.

Which really brought forth a lot of room for fucked up people to do what they wanted.

Short, sweet, and to the point. Follow these rules and we all have a great time.

1. Mutuals only. I must be following you and you must be following me. Only those that I follow can like starter calls, send in character asks, and reply to posts.

1a. I will not interact with non-Mutuals, that includes asks, unless it’s done anonymously and it doesn’t have a url attached. Anyone who breaks this rule will get about a few pardons but after that will be blocked.

2. My time is limited here in what I can do. This means that I am very selective in what I reply to. Doesn’t necessary mean that I am ignoring anyone. Some days I reply to everything and everyone, others I am so burnt out from irl things or work that I just lurk and do the bare minimum. My mental health and well-being comes before anything else.

2a. Replies vary by length and time. I normally work eight to ten hours a day and experience a lot of exhaustion. Unless I don’t see a thread or an ask going anywhere and publicly make a post saying it’s been dropped, consider everything as pending / will do ASAP. Memes are okay to send in late unless it clearly states, not accepting. My timezone is Eastern Standard Time or EST. United States is where I am located at. I am usually online from 10 PM EST to 3 AM EST unless it’s a day off from work, which the online time will vary from 12 PM EST to 3 AM EST.

2b. Role-playing is a hobby, not a job. Do not pester me for replies or asks to be answered. I am not obligated to owe anyone anything on this website. I am human and can’t cater to everyone’s needs. Being persistent here is not going to make me answer yours faster than other people.

2c. Don’t follow, unfollow, and then refollow my blog. It’s not going to make me want to follow you back, ever. It’s annoying and no one is being crafty by doing that. If you continue to do this and it isn’t a tumblr glitch, I will be inclined to block and possibly report for spam.

3. If you do need to break mutuals with me, HARD BLOCK my blog. Don’t just UNFOLLOW or SOFT BLOCK because chances are that I could mistakenly follow you again. And that’s something we both don’t want since it would be quite awkward.

3a. I have the right to unfollow whoever I want to and so do you. Please don’t go on a hunt and try to guilt trip me into following you back again. Just don’t. I can and will tell you the reason why I unfollowed you but other than that, just let me leave in peace.

3b. Personal blogs and non RP blogs will be blocked on site. Please, if you have a side blog let me know through asks so I don’t accidentally block you. IMs are not a good way to let me know since they are closed for non-mutuals.

4. Duplicates are welcomed to follow me. The more the merrier. I do not suffer from same muse anxiety and encourage any of the same muse to follow me. Only request is that you don’t steal my headcanons, edits or icons. Other than that, we should all be able to have a good time. I’m always up for twin verses or alternate universes shenanigans.

4a. Original Characters are allowed to follow me. However, they need to be a little flesh out before I make a decision to follow them back or not. Just a small backstory or biography is all that I need. Headcanons also work if there isn’t an about page but must have about one page worth for me to consider following.

4b. Crossover Characters from other shows are allowed to follow me but I must know about said muse or else I’ll have a hard time whether to follow or not. Few fandoms I won’t interact with because I have no interest in these series are: Avatar the Last Airbender, Avatar the Legend of Korra. ( more to be added ).

5. I am a multi-ship blog. Arsene himself is ageless but his physical form is around 25 when he became a shadow / persona / demon and as such, I will only be shipping him romantically with muses around the 20s to 30s range. Some threads may get a little spicy but nothing that requires a ‘do not read at work’ type of posts. I will tag those post that are suggestive with a ‘spicy: tw & spicy for ts’ and ‘Looks like someone needs proper punishment’ for blacklisting purposes.

5a. I am open to all kinds of ships, not just romantic ones. I also enjoy platonic, rivalry, and familiar bonds. All ships are open to discussions through my IM(s) or otherwise known as Instant Messenger. Chemistry is key. As long as we interact a little, there’s always the chance that both muses can be in a relationship.

6. Things for you to tag for me are: BIRDS, CHAIN LETTERS, ORGANS, DOGS. For the birds and dogs, just in real life ones trigger me. I am fine with cartoon / art / video game ones as they are not real.

9. I am not a meme source. If you need to reblog a meme from my blog and don’t plan to send me anything, reblog from the source. I hardly get asks as it is, and for you to just use me as a meme source puts a bad taste in my mouth and I feel like I’m being used, which isn’t a good feeling. If you wonder if you should send in a meme to me, please do. I love getting asks. I do hoard them from time to time like a dragon hoards treasure but I do get to them eventually. The more memes / asks, the merrier.

9a. Feel free to turn inbox replies into threads. Just remember to make separate post when replying. Do not reblog threads not meant for you and don’t reblog my headcanons. It’s okay to reblog my asks though if you want them to be keepsakes on your own blog. Also, it’s alright to reblog musings and images from me.

10. I rather not be bothered by callout posts and any potential drama that might accumulate. I am just here to have fun and I hope everyone else can too. Life is too short to spend on certain things that don’t matter in the long run. If I see multiple call out posts from you in a single day or that’s all you post, I will quietly unfollow you.

11. Out of character posts will be on here from time to time. Mostly talking about life in general or me venting once in a great while. If this annoys you, please remember that this is my blog, not yours. You are welcomed to unfollow / block at any time.

11a. The best way to interact with me is to send memes / asks / inbox things. I am always up for unprompted things in my inbox. Also, my instant messenger is always open if someone needs to contact me out of character or to plot something. Don’t hesitate to talk to me. I will try my best to respond.

11b. Not interacting after a month or two with me and my blog will make me silently unfollow you or result in a soft block. Or if you don’t interact with me at all, even out of character. Also, if you are gone for more than 6 months, I consider your blog inactive and will probably assume that you aren’t going to return.

12. I’m really laid-back in nature so don’t feel pressure to reply to anything I send to you. I understand that life happens and that sometimes you just need to unwind from the stress of daily life.

13. For pronouns; either SHE/HER or THEY/THEM is okay with me. My orientation is DEMIROMANTIC ASEXUAL. I love anime, manga, video games, music, drawing, and writing. 3. What current rp trend do you hate?

no shade to the people who use them bc i kinda get it, but i really can’t stand google docs. having to open a third party app every time i need to double check someone’s rules or muse list really slows down my already slow computer, and i just don’t see the appeal. not to mention, now when i try to find actual documents in my google drive, there’s a million tumblr rp google docs in there that i have to sort through, which is suuuuper annoying. i know that tumblr used to suck about opening links on mobile, but that’s not an issue now, so i don’t really get why people don’t just use that, outside of aesthetic reasons -- which is valid enough, i suppose, but i don’t get why aesthetic has to take precedent over accessibility all the time on this site haha

no, but i’m seeing more of a trend with reblog karma / reblogging memes from their source. and like, while i understand why people might not want someone to reblog a meme from them, i personally just do not care. there isn’t a high enough number of people reblogging from me that its an issue, and i’m not offended if a blog who only writes zeus’ children doesn’t send them a romantic starter djfdnm. i get why people don’t like it, but i’ve also seen people unfollow and block someone for not reblogging from the source and that seems a bit extreme for my tastes

38. What advice would you give to someone new to rp?

one of my biggest pieces of advice is to put yourself out there. i think it can be really hard for some people to gain any traction because there’s this level of anxiety that people have about interacting with new people. tumblr’s strict mentality about rules doesn’t help, but if you’re mutuals with someone, send the ask. the worst that could happen is the person doesn’t respond to it, but that could happen with literally anyone. there’s so much fear about interacting, but we’re literally all in the same boat, so if you want to write with someone, send them something! don’t wait for people to come to you, because that’s an agonizingly slow process

RULES

Short, sweet, and to the point. Follow these rules and we all have a great time.
